How to unlock unlockable characters(you must complete all expectations to unlock each character and after you do all three expectations you have to battle them in a brawl):
Ness: Play 5 matches, Reflect 10 projectiles and you have to get Ness to join you team in Subspace Emissary
Marth: Play 10 matches, Finish classic mode on any difficulty level and you have to get Marth to join your team in Subspace Emissary
Luigi: Play 22 matches, Beat classic mode with no continues and you have to get Luigi to join your team in Subspace Emissary
Falco: Play 50 matches, clear the 100-man brawl and you have to get Falco to join your team in Subspace Emissary
Captain Falcon: Play 70 matches, beat classic mode in less then 12 minutes on the normal difficulty and you have to get Captain Falcon to join your team in Subspace Emissary
Lucario: Play 100 matches, Beat Target Smash!! on all difficulty levels(you can complete this in 2 player mode as well) Get Lucario to join your team in Subspace Emissary
R.O.B.: Play 160 brawls, get 250 different trophies and get R.O.B. to join your team in Subspace Emissary
Mr. Game & Watch: Play 250 brawls, Clear target on any difficulty level with 30 different characters(you have to do this in 1 player) get Mr.Game and Watch to join your team in Subspace Emissary
Hold R on the Gamecube controller
Hold Z on the Wiimote and Nunchuck
Hold – on the Wiimote without a NunchukTo switch during a match hit Up Taunt, Down Taunt, and Up Taunt very quickly. Do the same to return to regular Samus.
Level 3 (Hard) – Beat Classic Mode twice on Medium or once on Hard
Level 4 (Very Hard) – Beat Classic Mode twice on Hard or once on Very Hard
Level 5 (Intense) – Beat Classic Mode twice on Very Hard or once on Intense
Edit Parts B – Create 5 Stages in Stage Builder
Edit Parts C – Create 15 Stages in Stage Builder
Dream Chaser – Play 10 vs. matches on Port Town
Fire Field – Complete Event #24

Mach Rider (melee version) – Defeat 50 alloys in Endless Multi-Man Brawl
Menu 2 – Unlock All 35 Characters
Metroid Prime 2: Multi-Play – Play 10 vs. matches on Frigate Orpheon
Mountain and Forest – Complete Event #18 on Difficult
Powerhungry Fool – Play 10 vs. matches on Castle Siege
Road to Tokiwa – Complete Event #8
Snake Eater – Play 15 vs. matches on Shadow Moses Island
Song of Storms – Complete Event #37
Staff Credits Music – Clear Classic Mode on Difficult
Taru Taru Highlands – Clear All-Star Mode on Easy
Boss Battle Mode – Defeat the Subspace Emissary with any character
To unlock Mr. Game & Watch, you must do one of the following:
A) Fight in at least 250 brawls (and then beat Mr. Game & Watch)
B) Clear “Target Smash!” with 30 characters on any difficulty (and then beat Mr. Game & Watch)
C) Get Mr. Game & Watch to join you in the Subspace Emissary
To unlock Jigglypuff, you must…
A) Play in 350 brawls (and then beat Jigglypuff)
B) Clear 20 or more events after winning the Subspace Emissary (and then beat Jigglypuff)
OR
C) Pass through the hidden door in the swamp AFTER beating the Subspace Emissary (and then beat Jigglypuff)
To unlock Toon Link, you must do one of the following:
A) Play 400 brawls (and then beat Toon Link)
B) Clear Classic mode with any character on any difficulty AFTER you clear the Subspace Emissary (and then beat Toon Link)
C) Go through the hidden door in the forest after clearing the Subspace Emissary (and then beat Toon Link)
Finally, to unlock Wolf (or Wolf O’Donnell), you must do one of the following:
A) Play 450 brawls (and then defeat Wolf)
B) Beat Boss Battles with Fox or Falco after beating the Subspace Emissary (and then beat Wolf)
C) Pass through the hidden door in the ruins after beating the Subspace Emissary (and then beat Wolf)
There you have it, all the ways you can unlock Mr. Game & Watch, Jigglypuff, Toon Link, and Wolf on Super! Smash! Bros.! BRAWL!!!
You only have to meet ONE expectation for each secret character to unlock them. Also, if you have a secret character join you in the Subspace Emissarry, you DON’T have to defeat them to unlock them.

There are also a few stages from Super Smash Bros. Melee that make a return into Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Hint: Try doing Snake’s side taunt on the Shadow Moses Island Stage.
